It was past midnight. The old grandpa’s clock rang and Aiba Masaki closed the door shut. It was his first day working part-time as a waiter in Matsumoto Jun’s newly-opened coffee shop. It was an old building, previously a bakery, giving an atmosphere of 18th century European building. Matsumoto had chosen to not rebuild the building, for he would like to concentrate on gaining profits first.
“Ah, Aiba-chan, can you please clean the restroom? Sorry, it’s quite a mess here… and I also need to contact Sakurai-san for coffee, chocolate, and some other supplies…” he asked Aiba with an apologetic look.
“Alright, leave it to me, Jun-chan!” Aiba answered happily while making sure the door was perfectly locked.
“Sorry, making you clean the restroom on your first day…”
“No problem, Jun-chan, we’re friends after all. And hey, you really did it, huh. This is only the second day and look at how busy you are,” he chirped, leaning on the counter.
“Thanks. I promise I’ll hire more people so that you don’t have to clean the restroom…”
“I said it’s okay, Jun-chan! Take it easy! Well, ittekimasu!” Aiba said, leaving for the restroom.
Aiba was gathering the needed tools at the end of the small corridor where the restroom was, when he heard something from the male restroom.
Someone was inside.
Aiba walked closer to the restroom door and tried to listen more carefully.
No it wasn’t someone. It was… two people? Customers who hadn’t leave the coffee shop? But, seriously, two people in the same booth?
Aiba was about to knock the door when he heard a whimper. He gulped.
“Umm… Sir, are you alright?” he asked quietly.
Giggles. Another whimper.
“Sir, I don’t mean to disturb whatever you are doing inside, but we’re cl--”
A gasp.
Sharp breathing. In and out. In, and out.
One of them groaned. The other let out a sigh.
“I-I’m sorry, Sir, I don’t know there were still people inside… Err… we’re already closed… So…,” Aiba said, knocking the door softly.
A louder whimper was heard this time, followed by a giggle, sounded disgustingly satisfied. Then he heard they called each other’s names, slightly stuttering.
“Sa…toshi…”
“Nino… you… No… way. Nino…?”
“Right, right. We’re… even.”
Aiba shook his head from the unpleasant image which started to form inside his creative, slightly perverted, brain. He cleared his throat and knocked the door, louder this time. “Sir, please get out. We’re closed. You can continue whatever you are doing in another place but here,” he pleaded.
He heard a click a few seconds later. He stepped backward as two people came out from the door. They were about the same height, one of them had chubby cheeks and tan skinned, while the other looked skinny and pale. He bowed at them as they left the small corridor.
They were clean and sane, they didn’t look like they just did something suspicious inside. Aiba shrugged and entered the restroom to clean it.
After a while, Aiba returned to the counter at the main hall where Jun was. Jun was drinking a can of beer while reading a newspaper.
“Jun-chan, I’m done.”
“Ah, thanks for the hard work! I just finished my part, too. You know what? Sakurai-san said he will come here tomorrow. Isn’t it amazing? I’m finally able to work with that Sakurai Sho, culinary journalist that I look up to, and he happened to be a supplier for my shop’s needs… And now, he’d like to taste my coffee and write reviews, he said!” Jun said happily. “I’ll let him taste my coffee as much as he wants!”
“And let him taste you?” Aiba added nonchalantly, Jun blushed. “Aaah, just kidding! Hmm, what are you reading, Jun-chan? You look serious,” Aiba pointed at the newspaper Jun was reading.
“Uh… umm. This morning’s newspaper. An article about the previous owners of this building. A case from a year ago. I didn’t know about this before,” he said, pointing at an article before handing the newspaper to Aiba.
Aiba took the newspaper and read the article carefully. But he only read some sentences and saw a small photo of the owners. He shoved it back to Jun.
“No way,” Aiba said.
“What?”
“They… They…”
“Who…?”
“The previous owners of this building…” Aiba muttered, slightly trembling, “No way… Jun-chan, read their name for me…” Aiba brought his fingers to his lips, starting to bite his nails.
“Uh well…” Jun searched, “Ohno Satoshi, Ninomiya Kazunari… What’s wrong?”
“’Satoshi’… ‘Ninomiya’… ‘Nino’…” Aiba shivered. “Jun, they just… went home, I… I saw them!!”
“What? I didn’t see anyone going out since you closed the door! We’re closed and it’s just the two of us here! You’re…”
“Jun-chan, I saw them.”
“Aiba-chan, you’re tired. They are dead. They were found dead in the restroom a year ago. The one called Ninomiya attempted to rape Ohno, but he failed. Ninomiya went insane and murdered Ohno. He couldn’t stand it so he committed suicide in the end, or so the police finally concluded,” Jun summed the article for Aiba.
Aiba gulped. That explained everything. The sounds he heard from the restroom: the whimpers, giggles, gasps, breaths, groan, and stuttered words…
Nino… you… No… way. Nino…?
Right, right. We’re… even.
That was probably when Ninomiya committed suicide, Aiba thought.
“Aiba-chan?”
“No way!”
Aiba dashed into the small corridor. The male restroom was quiet, like nothing happened. Ignoring his own frantic heartbeat, Aiba grabbed the knob and opened the door. He peeked inside the restroom.
No one was there.
Aiba sighed in relief, maybe Jun was right, he was tired so his brainwave earlier was somewhat strange, he thought.
He closed the restroom door. But he heard it again.
Giggles.
He quickly turned to open the restroom door again, but he fell and screamed as his eyes met the reflections on the mirror. Nino and Ohno, the same ‘people’ who left the restroom, the same people like the photo in the newspaper article, were smiling at him, eyes devoid of any emotions.
The one called Nino giggled in a disgustingly creepy way.
“Aaah, we were found out~”

A/N: Yay~ did I deceive you? :D
Been wanting to write some kind of ‘trap’ like this, sorry! xD
Scared? No? Surprised? No? :D
Just to let you know, I was thinking for the plot while taking a shower, and felt somewhat uneasy. My familiar bathroom became suddenly creepy xD
I showered faster than usual because I myself was kind of scared. =,=
