Sho opened his eyes, suddenly felt so cold. He tightened the blanket which covered his body, slowly taking a glance around.
The blurry scenery around him was so unfamiliar. He was lying down in a big and soft bed that he knew wasn't his, inside a neat bedroom that obviously wasn't his either.
Sho was still trying to gather his consciousness, when suddenly the door on his left side opened with a creak, making Sho turned his head in a start. Jun showed up from the door. He looked a little bit surprised when his eyes met Sho's.
"Ah, sorry, did I wake you up?" He said. He was already wearing his pajamas, and there was a towel covering his wet hair. It looked like Jun had just finished taking a bath.
Sho tried to sit up, but suddenly his head felt heavy, as if there was a big stone fell down right on the top of it. So he laid back to the bed.
"Where is this...?" Sho asked when Jun sat down on the bedside near him, wiping his dripping hair with his towel.
"My house," the younger answered, slightly smiled. "After our last interview today, you slept inside the van all along the way home. You said you didn’t feel well. Then, when we reached your apartment building, you wouldn’t wake up. You got a high fever, Sho-san. That's why then I decided to take you to my house instead of yours."
Sho frowned, trying hard to catch Jun's explanation. His brain was frozen because of the fever.
Seeing the expression on Sho's face, the smile on Jun's lips slowly disappeared. "Ah. I'm sorry for being impolite, Sho-san. I... I'm just thinking that... Maybe I can treat you if I bring you to my house... There's no other intention, really."
"Mm," Sho shook his head, "It's okay, Jun-kun. I'm just... I can't really remember what happened, so..."
"Ah..." a faint smile made its way back to Jun's lips. He sighed. "Yokatta. I think you'll be angry..."
Jun stretched his hand to touch Sho's forehead, checking the newscaster's temperature.
"Hmm, this is bad. Your fever won't go down... You should see a doctor, Sho-san. But there is a storm outside now. We can't go anywhere. We can't call the doctor to come here either," the younger shook his head with worried face.
Sho smiled. "Don't worry too much about me, Jun-kun. I think I'm just a little bit exhausted. I believe with enough rest, my fever will go down soon."
Jun stared at Sho. "Okay then..." He said hesitantly, "Let's wait untill tomorrow. If your fever haven't gone, we'll go to see a doctor."
Sho nodded.
"Wait a minute, I've made some fresh chicken ginger soup for you. I'll bring it here."
Jun took his towel off his head, then he went out from the bedroom to the kitchen. He came back with a puffing bowl, a glass of water, and some medicines. The younger helped Sho to eat the soup and took the medicine, before then pushed the newscaster back under the warm blanket.
"Now you should take a good rest," he smiled towards Sho.
"Thank you, Jun-kun," the older replied.
"If you need something, just call me, okay? I'll sleep in the living room."
"Eh? In the living room?" Sho quacked.
"Yes. What's wrong?" Jun raised his eyebrows.
"Er..." Sho averted his eyes from Jun's. "Why don't you... Eh—sleep here?"
"Eh?" Jun's eyes widened in surprise.
"I mean... This is your bedroom, isn't it? I'll feel bad if you have to sleep in the living room because of me."
"Ah, that's alright, Sho-san. Just take it easy," Jun smiled. Then, when he was just about to leave, Sho called him again.
"You... You said you will look after me, right? I think it'll be easier for you to check my condition if you sleep here, close to me..." the older said, still avoiding Jun's eyes. His cheeks slowly turned red.
A short silence, before then Jun raised his voice.
"Is that okay...?" He asked hesitantly.
Sho nodded.
"You..." Jun scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "I mean... You really okay with me sleeping here? On the same bed... Beside you...?"
"Yes, Jun-kun, it's okay. Aah, don't make me repeat myself," Sho buried his face under the blanket. "Now come quickly here. You need to take a rest too."
"Well..." Jun sighed. "If you say so..."
He slipped under the blanket, lying uncomfortably beside his bandmate.
An awkward silence lingered on the air long enough. Both Jun and Sho wanted to started a normal conversation, but they didn't know what to say to start it.
"I..." they finally spoke, at the same time. Then silence again.
"You go first," Jun said.
"No, you go first," Sho answered from under his blanket.
"No, Sho-san. You go first," Jun insisted.
Sho took a peek towards Jun from under the thick blanket. He sighed, before then started, "It's been a while, ne?"
"Hmm?" Jun stared at the ceiling, feeling his heart suddenly beat faster.
"Since the last time I slept over at your house..." Sho continued, following Jun's gaze to stare at the ceiling. "It was a long time ago..."
"Yeah..." A weak smile curved on Jun's lips when he remembered that day. "It was the night of my graduation, ne..."
"Yeah, yeah. You couldn't sleep at all because you were too nervous," the newscaster chuckled.
"True," Jun joined his chuckling.
"Ah, we were very close back then, ne? But then..."
An awkward silence lingered on the air once again, creating an uncomfortable situation for them.
"Sho-san, I'm sorry," Jun bit his lower lips. "Back then, I was so hot-blooded and stupid. I didn't think first before I speak... That confession... I didn't mean to embarrass you, really..."
A short pause. Jun waited for the newscaster's response, but the man beside him didn't say a word.
"If..." He continued with a bitter tone in his voice, "If I know that my careless confession will make such a distance between us, then that time I wouldn't say it..."
Again, no response from Sho.
Jun let out an awkward laughter. "I think we'd better go to sleep now. Good night, Sho-san," he shifted his body, turning his back towards Sho. He was just about to close his eyes, when he heard Sho spoke.
"You know Jun-chan..." The newscaster's voice sounded hoarse. "That time when you confessed to me... When you said that you like me..."
Jun listened carefully.
"Actually I felt happy. Very happy..."
Jun gulped.
"Because..." Sho continued, "Actually I have the same feeling towards you..."
The newscaster sighed. "It was me who's stupid at that time, Jun-kun. Not you. If I wasn't too shy to admit my feeling towards you, this distance between us won't exist. I kept refusing to admit my feeling for you. I avoided you. Thinking that maybe if I didn't get too close to you, I could kill that feeling. Then when I realized that I couldn’t erase that feeling, it was already too late... The distance between us had become too far... So far that I can't get close to you again..."
Slowly Jun turned his body to face Sho. He found the older man was staring at him with regret on his eyes.
"I know it's too late to say all of this now. But I hope you can forgive all of my stupidity."
Jun shook his head. "Ne, Sho-san, can I ask you something?"
"Hm?"
"About your feeling towards me... Has it changed?"
Sho smiled bitterly towards the younger. "Just like what I've said, Jun-kun. I've tried anything, but that feeling won't change..."
"So, until now, about me, you still..."
Sho turned on his side to face the younger. He didn't answer, but Jun could read the answer from the newscaster's face clearly. He smiled wide, really wide, then leaned forward to give the older a kiss.
Sho's eyes widened. He was torn between shocked and confused.
"Jun-kun...?" He blinked.
"I'm happy to finally get the answer of my confession from long time ago," the younger grinned. "You're not too late, Sho-san. My feeling towards you never change."
"So that means...?"
Jun grinned wider, then he leaned forward, and they kissed again.
Just like the dam door that finally opened, the pair kissed passionately, let out all of their restrained feeling towards each other. They kissed, they sucked, they licked, they bit. Touching each other's body, trying to comfort each other.
Jun had already on top of Sho, his right hand was cupping the newscaster's cheek, while his left hand sneaked inside Sho's T-shirt, exploring the skin on the man's abs and chest. Sho's skin felt burning hot under his hand because of the fever.
Sho had already unbuttoned Jun's pajamas, then he suddenly pushed the younger from above him. Jun lost his balance. He fell down to the surface of the bed, still hugging Sho in his arm. They rolled, and now Sho was on top of Jun.
They broke their kiss for a while to gasp for some fresh air, and then Sho bent down again to continue their activity.
But then suddenly Sho fell down to the bed beside Jun, panting hard. Jun stared at him in surprise, before then smiling wide.
Sho breathed unevenly. His eyes closed and he winced in pain.
Jun helped shifting Sho's body, so the newscaster could lay back on the bed more comfortable. He was tidying up Sho's messy T-shirt, when the older grabbed his wrist, pulling him closer to start kissing him again.
The younger chuckled.
"You have a high fever, Sho-san. You have to take a rest for now," he said. But the older wouldn't let go of his wrist. Jun stroke Sho's cheek softly with his free hand.
"You should take a good night sleep now. I promise we will continue this tomorrow, when you've recovered from your fever, okay?"
Sho sighed and pouted, but he nodded in agreement, letting go his grip on Jun's wrist. Jun kissed his forehead lightly.
"Good night, Sho-san. Get well soon."

The next morning, Sho's fever had totally gone. He still felt a little weak, but now he could got up from the bed. He got out to find Jun was busy on the kitchen table, decorating a round cake with cream.
"Good morning," Sho greeted the younger.
"Ah, Sho-san, good morning," Jun looked up from his work to stare at his interlocutor. "How's your fever?"
"It's gone. I'm okay now." The newscaster took a seat on a chair near Jun. "What are you doing?"
"Hmm..." The younger didn't answer. He continued decorating the cake.
"You make a cake?" Sho frowned.
"Yep."
"Usually you don't make a cake."
"Done!" Jun finished giving a final touch on his cake, then he shoved it towards Sho. "Jaaaaan! Happy Birthday, Sho-san!" He grinned wide.
"Eh??" Sho's mouth opened in surprise. "Today is my birthday?"
The younger laughed. "How could you forget your own birthday?"
Sho scratched the back of his head. "Well..." he grinned sheepishly.
"Ah yeah. I've bought a present for you. Wait, I'll bring it here."
Jun was just about to go back to his bedroom to get the present, when Sho grabbed his arm, preventing him from leaving. He pulled Jun towards him to give the younger a kiss.
"Thank you, Jun-kun..."
They stared at each other for a while. Then they kissed again. Sho now had risen from his seat, pushing Jun backwards slowly, as they kissed and their hands explored each other's body.
Sho pushed Jun's back against the refrigerator, trying to unbutton his shirt without breaking their kiss. The younger did the same: he tried to take off the white T-shirt from Sho's upper body.
The snuggling between them became hotter and hotter. But then suddenly Jun pushed Sho away for hearing the sound of the front door opened, followed by a familiar voice chirped happily.
"Jun-chan! How's Sho-chan?"
Jun and Sho panicked, hurriedly tidying up their messy clothes. They were just about to go back to their seat, when Aiba entered the kitchen. Ohno and Nino followed behind him.
"Sho-chan!" His face turned bright to see the newscaster. "How's your fever?"
"Eh," Sho said awkwardly, realizing Nino's suspicious gaze at his and Jun's messy hair. "It's gone."
"Ah, that's great! So today we can celebrate your birthday together!" He lifted both of his hand to the air cheerfuly.
"Can you guys just knock first before entering someone else's house?" Jun sat down at the kitchen's table, smoothening his hair with his hand.
Nino rolled his eyes. "I've told Masaki to do so, but he wouldn’t listen."
"Eeh, why? Aren't we close friends?" Aiba pouted.
Nino snorted. "Yeah. But sometimes our friends also need a private time too, you know. Ne, Jun-pon?" He grinned teasingly. Ohno bursted out laughing behind the gamer.
Jun blushed hard.
"Ehm," Sho tried to break the awkward situation. "Can we eat the cake now? I'm starving."
"Ah!” Aiba quacked when he saw Jun’s handmade cake on the kitchen table, “A cake! How did you guys get this cake? I’ve looked all around the city, but there isn’t any cake shop open due to the snow storm last night."
"I made it," Jun mumbled.
"Eh?? Really?? Wow! That's cool!" Aiba's eyes shone in amazement.
"Masaki, your voice is too loud," Nino complained, taking a seat beside Ohno.
"Nino, why do you always complain about me being noisy?" Aiba pouted, sat down in an empty chair opposite to the gamer.
"Because you are noisy."
"Satoshi-kun, say something. Nino's being mean to me again."
Jun threw a frustrated gaze towards Sho from his seat. The newscaster chuckled. It looked like his business with Jun couldn't be resumed in the meantime. He then took a seat beside his lover, joining his noisy bandmates on the kitchen table.
This was the best birthday Sho ever had in his life. He really felt grateful God gave him a high fever right before his birthday. That fever was the best present he got this year. Because that fever had miraculously erased the distance between him and the man he really loved. So now, on his birthday, he could be together again with his beloved one.

Well, what a weird fic! xD Inspired by Fuku Arashi 2013 and also Jun's crucial confession towards Sho long time ago xD
Maybe there's a time slip in this fic (or no?) between Jun's graduation and the confession. I don't know, because I don't look for the right timeline when I write this fic xp

"Eeh, why? Aren't we close friends?" Aiba pouted.
Nino snorted. "Yeah. But sometimes our friends also need a private time too, you know. Ne, Jun-pon?" He grinned teasingly. Ohno bursted out laughing behind the gamer.
Jun blushed hard.
"Ehm," Sho tried to break the awkward situation. "Can we eat the cake now? I'm starving."
"Ah!” Aiba quacked when he saw Jun’s handmade cake on the kitchen table, “A cake! How did you guys get this cake? I’ve looked all around the city, but there isn’t any cake shop open due to the snow storm last night."
"I made it," Jun mumbled.
"Eh?? Really?? Wow! That's cool!" Aiba's eyes shone in amazement.
"Masaki, your voice is too loud," Nino complained, taking a seat beside Ohno.
"Nino, why do you always complain about me being noisy?" Aiba pouted, sat down in an empty chair opposite to the gamer.
"Because you are noisy."
"Satoshi-kun, say something. Nino's being mean to me again."
Jun threw a frustrated gaze towards Sho from his seat. The newscaster chuckled. It looked like his business with Jun couldn't be resumed in the meantime. He then took a seat beside his lover, joining his noisy bandmates on the kitchen table.
This was the best birthday Sho ever had in his life. He really felt grateful God gave him a high fever right before his birthday. That fever was the best present he got this year. Because that fever had miraculously erased the distance between him and the man he really loved. So now, on his birthday, he could be together again with his beloved one.
